To the Mystery of Consciousness

This anthology is a teaching tool, a collection of practitioner reference material to be experienced and put to the test. It is the result of years of focused, sustained, and disciplined work on the part of my Master students: Amy Harris, Erin Kinney, Janet Douglas, Jen Ziegner, Lauren Jane Heller, Nicholette Routhier, Stefanie Menack, and Wendy Sue Cirello. 

Each of the essays was conceived as part of their Recapitulation assignments during our work in 2022 and 2023—as a way to reclaim and integrate the multiple layers of training experienced during that time, both linearly and non-linearly. The writing is clean, honest, and true, reflecting a journey—powerful statements of commitment to an ever-evolving process of self-realization—more than crafting a destination.

MEET THE AUTHORS

Ten years ago, I casually wrote something about following the path of the heart on a business card. I had no idea then that this business card was the doorway to the greatest gift and most delightful adventure of my life. Collected here are a series of stories and revelations about my own predilections, my humaness, and my relationship with spirit.

For the last years since embarking on my spiritual path alongside my Sisters who are co-authors of this book, I have been looking at many corners and crevasses of my life, past and present. As part of this path, I also spent time in a dark retreat at the shores of Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. My essay weaves the journey of my six days in complete darkness with stories from recapitulating key scenes of my life so far: All in the commitment to having no place to hide, and no reason to. A commitment to freedom and inner peace.

If you told me that after working with Teo Alfero, I would claim, “I love being human!” I would have laughed in disbelief. I learned how to cultivate energetic sovereignty and choose to be here, on earth. From there, my connection to not here blossomed. I developed skills to dream with agency. I connected with the consciousness of the Mayan deity, Kukulkan. Now I live and teach with “one foot in both worlds,” here and not here, a bridge to serve others. As I discovered, you must love your very human life before you can dream your life here with endless possibility.

PORTALS TO ETERNAL WISDOM

When you quiet your mind, the portals open. You can access timeless wisdom. You can see reality as it’s assembled. The portals open to universal, cosmic truth. This truth was invisible to me when I was busy “achieving”. Yet, while I was unconsciously constructing my identity and getting lost in the human drama of what I thought I was supposed to be and do, I knew there was something more. The following stories share the pathways to both creating and shedding my constructed identity. They hold keys that helped me get quiet, open portals, receive and see. These keys include the death of loved ones, illness, intimacy and awe, connection with nature and self.  They are keys to freedom. And they’re accessible to all of us.

Spirit has always been guiding me, but I was too stubborn to listen. Just over six years ago I took a huge leap and said “Yes” to a synchronistic opportunity. I was introduced to an ancient realm in modern times, where I learned how to energetically clean up the debris from my past, making space for possibility. This is my journey of rediscovery. My hope is that sharing my story might ignite something deep inside you, the knowledge that no matter your age or stage, you too can claim or reclaim your Path with Heart.

INFINITY'S PROMISE

As a child, I had a wild imagination and was completely obsessed with Infinity. All too soon, priorities shifted from rainbows and dancing naked in the rain to more practical pursuits like safety and security. Spoiler alert: Safety is an unsustainable illusion. On hands and knees, I found my soverignty and returned to a life of awe and wonder.

It is the indescribable joy, humor, peace and wonder that has kept me coming back to the realm of ceremony. The deeper I dive into this realm and relationship with the energy of Spirit, a realization or rather, remembering continues to emerge that this kind of being awake and alive is truly possible and even sustainable. I never thought that I would or could say with such conviction that I love my life and I truly love being me.
